QRU Indigenous Tees - Pre Order

The QRU in partnership with Dynasty Sport have today announced the release the QRU Indigenous T-Shirt for pre-order. The design featured on the t-shirts is based on the artwork by 16-year-old Indigenous artist Ayana Murray, which also featured on the St.George Queensland Reds Indigenous Round jersey in 2019 for the match against the Jaguares.

Ayana, a student who completed the QRU Future Leaders Indigenous Program, was selected for the program whilst in Grade 6 at Cherbourg State High School by the QRU Indigenous Program mentors and graduated in 2018.

The QRU Indigenous Program is made possible with the support of Rio Tinto and provides a platform and support for students in the Cherbourg and Woorabinda communities. Ayana is humbled to have her work feature on the QRU Indigenous Tees.

“I’ve been painting since I was 10 years old. I painted with my grandmother who taught me everything. My family are proud of me. It’s special being a part of the Reds Indigenous Program.”

Ayana went on to describe the meaning behind her design.

“The flowers represent the different communities of people.  The lines in between are the path we travel.  The big flower represents the Queensland Reds helping all of these communities and supporting them.  The feet are from the koala which is the logo of the Reds.”

The QRU Indigenous Tees are exclusively available online only at http://shop.redsrugby.com.au for pre-order before midnight Thursday 24th of October and are available in Mens, Ladies and Junior sizes.

Update: Orders placed will be delivered pre-Christmas 2019.
