Honour the legacy, service, and sacrifice of our veterans with the Queensland Reds ANZAC Jersey. Through five wars - from the Boxer Rebellion to Vietnam’s Battle of Long Tan - 61 Queensland Reds players served their country - 12 of them killed in action.
Commemorating the deep connection between the Reds and the Australian Defence Force, the 2026 design tells a powerful story of pride and remembrance.
The striking maroon-to-gold fade represents the “going down of the Sun”, part of the Ode of Remembrance. Twelve poppies featured on the front and back honour the 12 Queensland Rugby Union players who lost their lives in service.
Distinctive black-over-blue sleeve piping references the identifying colour patches worn by Queensland infantry battalions in World War One, including the 9th, 25th, 41st and 49th battalions. The Rising Sun badge takes precedence over the Queensland logo, symbolising service, remembrance, and the unbreakable bond between today’s players and the Reds who heeded the nation’s call.
A powerful jersey, proudly worn in respect and remembrance.

On the back of the support last year’s Anzac Jersey received, the jersey returns with the 2025 collar/neckline.
The Queensland Reds’ ANZAC Jersey commemorates the strong connections between the Reds and the Australian men and women who served in our armed forces.
60 Queensland Reds players served in five wars – 11 of them never returning to our shores.
The main silhouette image of troops advancing at the Battle of Broodseinde Ridge in 1917 is believed to be Toowoomba’s 25th Battalion - in which QRU #372 Tom “Rat” Flanagan served. The image has been reproduced from the famous photograph taken by Frank Hurley with the permission of the Australian War Memorial.
The jersey collar features both the original Rising Sun insignia worn on the battledress collar, and a poppy emblem, as a mark of respect and remembrance for the fallen.
The base colour matches the khaki battledress worn by the Australian Army in World War One, with the “black-over-blue” piping on the sleeve, a nod to the colour patch worn on the sleeve by most Queensland infantry battalions from World War One. Those battalions - the 9th, 25th, 41st and 49th – still wear these colour patches on their slouch hat puggaree band today.
