Commemorating the deep connection between the Reds and the Australian Defence Force, the 2026 design tells a powerful story of pride and remembrance.
The striking maroon-to-gold fade represents the “going down of the Sun”, part of the Ode of Remembrance. Twelve poppies featured on the front and back honour the 12 Queensland Rugby Union players who lost their lives in service.
Distinctive black-over-blue sleeve piping references the identifying colour patches worn by Queensland infantry battalions in World War One, including the 9th, 25th, 41st and 49th battalions. The Rising Sun badge takes precedence over the Queensland logo, symbolising service, remembrance, and the unbreakable bond between today’s players and the Reds who heeded the nation’s call.
